This psychological assessment is conducted to determine whether a child is functioning above the age expectation in their ability to reason logically and solve problems. This test assesses a child's abilities in the areas that are most predictive of academic success in formal educational settings. This assessment is often required for placement of students in special "gifted" programs within the public educational system, or in private schools offering a gifted curriculum.

A Psychoeducational assessment is conducted when a comprehensive review of a child's or adult's cognitive skills is required. This assessment evaluates whether a person has a Learning Disability or any other condition that affects their learning. If a diagnosis is established, the person can receive special accommodations and educational support at school or university.

An ADHD assessment is a subtype of psychoeducational assessment with a special emphasis on evaluation of attentional skills, concentration, self-regulation, organization and impulse control. The purpose of this assessment is to formally establish or rule out a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and to determine its subtype.

A Cognitive Profile assessment is a psychological assessment that can be recommended for every child or adolescent. Each person has a unique cognitive profile with certain strengths and weaknesses. Learning strategies that work for some students don't work for others and need to be customized accordingly.

A Social-emotional psychological assessment is conducted in order to better understand a child's inner life by exploring their feelings, thoughts, coping mechanisms, and ideas about the self and the world. It is recommended when a child exhibits emotional, social, or behavioral issues, such as low self-esteem, anger, defiance, depression, anxiety, family and peer conflicts, etc. Information is gathered through a combination of formal and semi-formal techniques such as interviews, questionnaires, observations, projective tests, etc.
Recommended ages: 6-16
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessments include measures of cognitive ability, language and processing skills, and academic achievement. As part of the assesment process, the psychologist will gather a detailed history of the child's development, and observe their interactions. We also gather reports of their social skills and projective measures that illuminate their view of the world.
Recommended ages: 16-25
A Career (or occupational) assessment is usually recommended for adolescents age 15 and up who are interested to learn more about their unique personal and cognitive qualities, and how these qualities map onto the spectrum of real-life jobs and professions. The assessment measures the student's aptitudes, interests, and personality traits along with a series of interviews and discussions that promote self-awareness and goal-setting. Such assessment is helpful for high-school students or for university students who are considering a change of direction.
